Quality Hotel & Suites is seeking an experienced hotel General Manager who has a solid understanding of day-to-day operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with hotel management, preferably within the Choice Hotels family, and should either possess CHA certification or be able to obtain it within six months. Salary will be based on experience. Opportunity for advancement.
Role and Responsibilities
The candidate is responsible for conducting compliance audits to monitor adherence to laws and internal policies, as well as providing training to staff. They will manage daily hotel operations to achieve planned revenue and profit goals while ensuring guest satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and asset protection. The General Manager will provide leadership, training, direction, and support to hotel employees, maintaining a high-quality product that aligns with company and brand standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality or Business preferred but not required. Equivalent experience is acceptable. 3 years in a hotel management position required.
- Must be proficient in the use of computers and office/property management software, including MS Word, Excel and outlook/office 365.
- Experience with Choice Hotels PMS, Choice Advantage and or related proprietary systems a plus.
- Must have effective oral and written communication skills; read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Must have good analytical skills and decision-making ability.
- Must be able to work independently and multi-task, prioritizing as appropriate.
- Obtain any Franchise required certifications including CHA, Certified Hotel Administrator
- Capable of working in a fast paced environment and in stressful situations.
- Must respond to multiple task interruptions and still provide service to internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner.
- Must be able to respond to upset guests with calm and tactful conflict resolution skills
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods at a time.
- May be required to do light lifting or carrying.
- May be required to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
- Must be flexible in work hours/days.
- Must be available to work extended hours, nights and weekends.
