QES is seeking an experienced Controller to play a critical role in guiding our financial operations and supporting our mission of delivering exceptional engineering, surveying, program management, and landscape architecture services. What You'll Do- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and job costing
- Prepare accurate financial statements, forecasts, and performance metrics for leadership
- Lead budgeting, cash flow planning, and financial analysis to support strategic decisions
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance
- Coordinate audits, tax filings, and external financial reporting
- Partner with project managers to monitor budgets, billing, and profitability
- Mentor and lead accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting systems, processes, and reporting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA strongly preferred)
- 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 3–5 years in a Controller or senior leadership role
- Experience in the AEC or professional services industry preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, budgeting, compliance, and financial reporting
- Proficiency with accounting software (Deltek Ajera a plus) and MS Office
- Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills
