What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler Coordinator / Swing Shift position at Quality Electrical Systems?

In this role, you will support the Materials Supervisor and coordinate with the material handling team to ensure the timely and accurate flow of supplies and parts from the warehouse to production, engineering, and other departments. Your contributions will help keep operations running efficiently and safely.

Shift: 4:00 pm to 2:30 am Monday - Thursday. Currently, the shift differential pay calculates at $3.00 per worked hour and is exempt from overtime rates and PTO hours. The shift differential rate is subject to change at any time at the company’s discretion

What You’ll Be Doing
- Ensure the smooth and accurate flow of materials to support production and other departments.
- Track and manage inventory to ensure materials are available when and where needed.
- Print inventory labels and assign parts to the correct bin locations.
- Coordinate with the team to ensure inventory dispatch requests are accurately processed and meet time expectations.
- Operate forklifts and other equipment to safely and efficiently move materials.
- Prioritize safety while maintaining productivity and accuracy.

Essential Physical/Environmental Demands:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regular activities including writing, sitting, standing, bending, reading, and maintaining visual acuity and color perception.
- Ability to work in environments with noise and potential exposure to chemical vapors.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- At least 1 year of warehouse experience.
- Basic math skills with the ability to apply them in daily tasks.
- Ability to read and follow written instructions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers, including spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and other applicable software programs.
