What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hospice Volunteer position at Quality Care Home Health & Hospice?
Quality Care Home Health & Hospice (QCHH) is seeking compassionate hospice volunteers to accompany neighbors and their loved ones at the end of life.
As a hospice volunteer you share the gift of your time and presence and become part of a circle of deep care and support. Your experiences as a volunteer are as varied and unique as the individuals we are privileged to serve. As a volunteer you may:
- · Offer companionship, respite for caregivers, or help with errands
- · Share unique gifts – sing, play an instrument, make food or art or write
- · Support loved ones who are grieving through phone calls or letters
- · Or simply offer the gift of your caring presence and listening
- · Choose the type of connection, time, and location that is right for you
- · Visit individuals in their homes or at assisted living or nursing facilities in towns from Concord to North Conway and across the Lakes Region
QCHH was started by nurses determined to place quality of life at the heart of every interaction.
As a volunteer you become part of our devoted team of physicians, nurses, health aides, social workers, and chaplains all dedicated to care, comfort, and dignity for our neighbors.
We provide thorough hospice training and ongoing support for all volunteers. We ask for a commitment of approximately 1 hour per week with significant flexibility.
If your heart pulls you in this direction, we are so eager to talk with you.
