What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veteran-to-Veteran Hospice Volunteer position at Quality Care Home Health & Hospice?
At Quality Care Home Health & Hospice, we are committed to providing compassionate, individualized care to veterans and their families at the end of life. We are actively seeking veteran volunteers to help us honor their values, stories, and sacrifices.
As a volunteer, you offer fellow veterans and their families a precious gift – someone who understands how military service may have shaped the course of their lives. Your care and presence can offer comfort and meaningful connection during this final passage.
As a Veteran Hospice Volunteer, you may:
v Provide companionship and conversation
v Offer respite for family caregivers
v Sit vigil when friends or family are unable to be nearby
v Assist with light household tasks or errands
v Participate in pinning ceremonies to honor an individual’s service
v Help recognize Memorial Day, Veterans Day or other special observances
We proudly serve veterans at the NH Veterans Home in Tilton as well as veterans living at home in towns from Concord to North Conway and throughout the Lakes Region.
We provide thorough training in hospice philosophy and education focused on the unique experiences and needs of veterans. We ask for a commitment of ~1 hour per week.
As a Veteran Hospice Volunteer, you join our dedicated team of physicians, nurses, aides, social workers, and chaplains where your unique contribution is deeply valued.
