Job Title: Buyer I

Job Description:

As Buyer I, you will be responsible for providing tactical purchasing support assigned value streams, ensuring that the company has the necessary materials for its operations. Your primary duties will involve reviewing requisitions, processing purchase orders (PO's), improve and ensure all aspects of purchase order hygiene, including acknowledging purchase orders, upkeeping promised delivery dates, and maintaining accurate pricing. You will act as the first line of defense for any price increase and help in resolving any issues related to the same. Additionally, you will be expected to support inventory targets by ensuring sufficient stock levels. As the first line of defense against any potential price increases, you will play a vital role in resolving any issues related to pricing. Your role is crucial in sustaining the smooth operation of our company's supply chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Support in forecasting the demand for materials and services, and the timely placement of purchase orders.
  • Act as a point of contact for vendors regarding order acknowledgment and confirmation.
  • Maintain and update order promise dates regularly.
  • Assist in resolving any pricing discrepancies with vendors.
  • Provide support to production cells as needed.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels to avoid shortages and excesses.
  • Timely address and rectify issues related to invoicing and shipping.
  • Ensure all purchasing activities comply with relevant laws and ethical standards.
  • Identify cost savings opportunities in line with quality, service, and supply constraints
  • Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives for cost savings improvements through waste elimination.

Requirements:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to keep information confidential
  • Experience in Microsoft Office.

Education And Experience:

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or related field.
  • Some experience in a purchasing role or similar position would be beneficial, but not essential as training will be provided.

Working Conditions: (especially manufacturing and field service positions)

  • Office and Factory environment.
  • Safety glasses required while on factory floor
  • Some overtime may be required

Pay Range

The salary range for this position (in local currency) is 56,900.00 - 105,700.00
