This individual will serve as a key customer service partner to departments both on and off campus, operating in a high‑volume, fast‑paced, and highly transactional healthcare purchasing environment where prioritization and urgency are critical. The Buyer will work closely with Strategic Sourcing and Data teams to identify sourcing opportunities, report pricing inconsistencies, support supplier additions or changes, and maintain clear documentation of purchasing decisions. Additionally, this role will leverage procurement technologies and collaborate with application and automation teams to improve efficiency, support process improvement initiatives, and contribute to broader supply chain optimization efforts.
Must Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in a buyer or office‑based role supporting purchasing functions (Buyer, Purchasing Assistant, Procurement, Operations, Accounts Payable, Financial Institution, etc.)
- Experience working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume, transactional environment
- Strong Excel skills

This role is responsible for managing the entire purchasing lifecycle, from approved requisition through matched invoice, ensuring uninterrupted supply of critical medical‑surgical products and services across multiple locations. The Buyer will place and monitor purchase orders, follow up with suppliers to resolve discrepancies, research alternate sources when contracted vendors cannot meet demand, and ensure accurate pricing and invoice reconciliation.
