What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Dental Hygienist position at Qualitas Dental Partners?
Our well-established practices are looking for a Full-Time Dental Hygienist to join our supportive clinical and administrative team members. Our practice draws patient population throughout state, which includes families that have been with us for generations. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collect and document medical and dental histories from patients.
- Evaluates overall oral health, examining for any signs & symptoms of disease.
- Chart dental conditions based on dentist’s observations and evaluations
- Follows through with oral hygiene procedures in accordance with treatment plans prescribed by the attending Dentist. Procedures may include Prophylaxis, Periodontal Scaling, Root Planning, Debridement, Application of Fluoride Treatment, etc.
- Sterilize dental instruments and tools
- Instruct patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene and care
- Take X-rays of patients’ teeth when necessary
- Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures
- Document lab procedures and ensures follow up on results
- Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a licensed Registered Dental Hygienist
- Active CPR (BLS) Certification
- Ability to prepare dental equipment and instruments
- Excellent working knowledge of overall dentistry and dental hygiene procedures, expertise in brushing and flossing techniques
- Familiarity with Dental software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding and knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules
