Dental Hygienist
Dr. Norfolk is seeking a professional, friendly, dependable, and team-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our growing practice. The ideal candidate takes pride in providing excellent patient care, communicates well with patients and team members, and enjoys working in a calm, professional clinical environment.This is an excellent opportunity for a hygienist who values quality patient care, clinical excellence, and being part of a supportive team.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and document medical and dental histories from patients.
- Evaluate overall oral health, examining for any signs & symptoms of disease
- Chart dental conditions based on dentist’s observations and evaluations
- Follow through with oral hygiene procedures in accordance with treatment plans prescribed by the attending Dentist. Procedures may include Prophylaxis, Periodontal Scaling, Root Planning, Debridement, Application of Fluoride Treatment, etc.
- Sterilize dental instruments and tools
- Instruct patients of all ages on proper dental hygiene and care
- Take necessary radiographs as needed.
- Provide chair-side assistance during dental procedures
- Document lab procedures and ensures follow up on results
- Assists with or institutes emergency measures for sudden adverse developments
- Provide a welcoming and comfortable experience for both adults and children
- Work collaboratively with doctors, assistants, and front office team members to provide exceptional patient care
