We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Dental Assistant to join our team. Surgical Dental Assistant Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assist the dental surgeon during surgical procedures
- Prepare and maintain instruments, equipment, and materials necessary for surgical procedures
- Take and record patient medical histories, vital signs, and blood pressure
- Take radiographs as directed by the dentist
- Educate patients on post-operative care and follow-up procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure infection control
- Schedule and confirm appointments and follow up with patients to ensure their satisfaction with the care provided
- Prepare and maintain patient charts, including updating patient information and charting procedures
Surgical Dental Assistant Qualifications & Skills
- Certification in dental assisting.
- Prior experience as a surgical dental assistant.
- Knowledge of dental software and electronic medical records.
- CPR and first aid certification.
- Experience with surgical instrument sterilization techniques.
- Graduate of an accredited dental assisting program
- Certification as a Dental Assistant from the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB)
- Experience assisting in oral surgery procedures
- DAANCE required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
