Position Overview

We are seeking a team-oriented leader to oversee daily material flow within a steel fabrication environment. This role is responsible for coordinating shipping activities, supporting production logistics, and maintaining a safe and efficient workspace. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-focused, and experienced in industrial material handling.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily movement, staging, and coordination of steel materials throughout the facility
• Operate cranes and forklifts to load, unload, and transport materials as needed
• Monitor and track incoming and outgoing inventory, ensuring accurate documentation
• Provide guidance and training to team members on equipment use, rigging practices, and safety procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
• Support overall shop logistics to ensure smooth workflow and production efficiency
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in steel handling or industrial material movement (lead or supervisory experience preferred)
• Experience operating cranes and forklifts; certifications are a plus
• Working knowledge of rigging techniques and the ability to interpret fabrication drawings
• Strong communication, organization, and multitasking abilities
• Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced production setting
