Purpose:
The Mohs Histotechnician will be responsible for supporting Mohs micrographic surgery procedures by providing high-quality histological services within a dynamic clinical environment. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced atmosphere.

The Mohs Histotechnician will be responsible for supporting Mohs micrographic surgery procedures by providing high-quality histological services within a dynamic clinical environment. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced atmosphere.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cut frozen sections of tissue specimens utilizing Mohs surgical techniques
- Process and embed tissue samples accurately and efficiently for histopathological examination
- Perform staining techniques for slide preparation and ensure quality control measures are met
- Document all steps and processes associated with specimen processing and maintain accurate records
- Ensure compliance with all laboratory safety and regulatory standards as outlined by CLIA
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to support uninterrupted workflow
- Collaborate with the surgical and clinical teams to ensure a seamless operation during Mohs procedures
- Provide guidance and support to other laboratory staff as necessary
- Engage in continuous education and training to improve histotechnical skills and knowledge
- Other related duties as assigned by the laboratory supervisor or team lead
- Bachelor's Degree in Histotechnology or a related field
- Certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) as a Histotechnologist (HTL) is preferred
- Prior experience within a histology or Mohs laboratory is strongly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members and patients
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
