Position Overview

The Production Progression Liaison works with new and existing production staff on advancement opportunities. The position will check in with new employees at 30, 60 and 90 days of employment to support them through their transition into their new roles ensuring they stay on track for success. The Production Progression Liaison serves as a point of contact for employee success in their position and beyond.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Spend time daily checking in with new employees in their 30, 60 and 90 days of employment to support them in their new role and document their progress
  • Assist Production Leads with coaching production staff on items affecting their progression such as compliance with safety, quality and efficiency components or the employee's mastery of the department jobs
  • Inform production staff of progression or transfer opportunities within Quaker that are available to them
  • Educate production staff on Quaker's attendance points policy, encourage and track progress to stay in compliance
  • Track promotions within and transfers between departments
  • Communicate daily with Production Leads about the progress new hires are making
  • Communicate daily with new hires, gather an understanding of the jobs they enjoy more than others
  • Support Production Leads in their completion of Progress Reports for new hires - emphasizing to new hires any topics that need additional focus
  • Promote the Mentor Program to production employees, explain its benefit, support by attending bimonthly training meetings and encouraging the post floor activities that reinforce the training topic
  • Present weekly on relevant topics during New Employee Orientation
  • Collaborate closely with the Talent Management Team and HR Generalist to proactively address and fulfill employee needs, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with organizational policies and objectives
  • Gather an understanding of each department's production needs and the pay progression opportunities for employees in each department
  • Gather and maintain a fluent knowledge of the Employee Handbook, specifically the Attendance policy; Paid Time Off, Work Safe Attendance Premium Incentive, Referral Program, Drug-Free Workplace Policy, Use of Mobile Devices and the Employment Conduct and Work Rules sections to coach employees and answer frequently asked questions.
  • Understand Pay Progression process and how employees can move through that process, encourage production employees to learn more to progress in their departments and into other production lines
  • Verify Production Leads keep training board data up to date with the correct employees and their mastery of each position on the production line
  • Prompt and regular attendance at an assigned work location.
  • Interact and communicate with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.
  • Availability on site to confer with staff members with whom the employee must interact on a regular basis.
  • Communicate via email, prepare reports and work schedules.
  • Review and analyze data and information concerning advancement opportunities for their customers – the employees of Quaker.
  • Plan and prioritize a schedule to meet with new employees at 30, 60 and 90 days of employment
  • Complete assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner.

Supervisory Responsibility

No direct management or supervisory responsibilities.

Safety

Observe safety and security policies and procedures, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment including but not limited to eye and foot protection; report potentially unsafe conditions; and use equipment and materials properly. Follow department-specific safety requirements during prolonged visits to the production floor such as Hearing Protection or Dust Masks.

Travel

Daily travel between the local Quaker campuses is required to meet with employees.

Qualifications

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Proficient knowledge of Quaker's Employee Handbook
  • Proficient knowledge of Quaker's production policies and procedures

Education and Experience

An individual is expected to have the minimum level of education and/or related expertise listed here:

  • High school diploma or a passed General Education Development test preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 Years of Manufacturing Experience

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during normal business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

This position supports manufacturing positions. The employee must be able to:

  • regularly lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 40 pounds;
  • work shifts of at least 8 hours, and occasionally longer, for 5 days each week;
  • stand for prolonged periods; and
  • occasionally bend, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as necessary.

It is an essential job function and safety rule, applicable to every employee working in a safety sensitive classified position, to be able to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Vision abilities required by this job may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to climactic variations, fumes or airborne particles, various levels of vibration, and moving mechanical parts. Various different types of Personal Protective Equipment might be required based on the employee's work location. The noise level in the work environment may require hearing protection.
