Position Title: Maintenance Technician
Wage: $35.70/hour
Shift: 2nd
Hours: 3:00pm - 1:30am

QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available for a Maintenance Technician at a company in Buffalo Grove, IL. This is a direct hire position for 2nd shift. Apply now!
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
- Create and follow maintenance standard operating procedures for assigned machines
- Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment
- Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors and other maintenance workers to diagnose problems and repair equipment
- Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery
- Layout, assemble, install and maintain pipe and air systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators and related equipment
- Work with the maintenance department to order fabrication of machine parts, jigs & fixtures, blades, and tools needed to maintain assigned equipment
- Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
Requirements for Maintenance Technician:
- Certification from a technical school or related experience and training in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Intermediate computer skills required
- Previous forklift certification with the ability to re-certify to PPC standards
- Intermediate electrical experience preferred
- Able to multi-task with above-average attention to detail and self-organize and prioritize responsibilities
- Able to work independently to reach goals and partner with internal teams as well as vendors to meet department requirements
- Able to obtain and maintain proficient knowledge of and capability with all computer systems and software required to perform essential functions
