Branch Skilled - 2nd shift Maintenance Trainee

Position Title: Maintenance Trainee

Wage: $22-$24/hour

Shift: 2nd

Hours: 3:30pm-12am

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Maintenance Trainee for a company in Richmond, IL. This is an associate to hire opportunity.

Maintenance Trainee Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Inspect and identify equipment or machinery in need of repair
• Troubleshoot issues and determine appropriate solutions
• Read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and building plans
• Perform general facility maintenance tasks, including painting and carpentry
• Complete basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC repairs, including preventative maintenance
• Maintain and perform general upkeep on forklifts
• Support facility cleanliness and overall upkeep
• Assist with maintenance inventory and materials management
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Maintenance Trainee Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma preferred
• 1-2 years of related maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and training
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Basic math skills
• Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently with general supervision
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Prolonged standing and walking required
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Frequent bending, twisting, crouching, reaching, pulling, and pushing
• Ability to climb ladders and work in confined or awkward spaces
• Use of hands to operate tools, equipment, and controls
• Ability to operate forklifts (certification required)
• Must be able to see details at varying distances
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and steel-toed boots
• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, machinery, and testing equipment
• Work environment noise level ranges from moderate to loud
