Position Summary / Overview
The Operations Data Specialist plays a critical role in stabilizing and improving manufacturing and supply chain performance by ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of operational master data and transactional execution in SAP. The role is intentionally positioned within the Newark Site Continuous Improvement Team to provide neutral, enterprise-first governance across Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, and Quality. The focus is on preventing data defects before they impact planning, execution, inventory, costing, or customer delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Operational & Supply Chain Master Data Quality
Improve and sustain the quality of manufacturing and supply chain master data including BOMs, routings/recipes, production versions, work centers, labor pools, validity dates, scrap factors and planning parameters. Partner with Operations, Supply Chain and Quality teams to ensure master data reflects physical reality and approved processes.
Transactional Discipline (SAP-First)
Reinforce accurate and timely SAP transactions including material consumption, goods movements, and quality releases. Identify recurring transaction issues and work with functional teams to eliminate root causes.
New Material Number Quality
Ensure new material numbers are created correctly from the start with appropriate planning, procurement, and execution parameters. Work with Product Management, Operations, and the EDM team to prevent incomplete or incorrect setups.
Data Governance & Collaboration
Support data governance routines, audits, dashboards, and cross-functional alignment on data standards. Collaborate closely with the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team to ensure high-quality submissions and adherence to governance rules.
Required Qualifications
Success in this role is demonstrated by fewer recurring data defects, improved planning feasibility, more stable execution, and reduced firefighting driven by master data or transaction issues.

Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain, data governance, or related roles
- Strong working knowledge of SAP master data and transactional processes
- Experience working across functions to resolve complex data or process issues
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability learn AI based data governance tools
- SAP certified in MM/DS/PP
- OMP experience high is highly desirable
- Exposure to master data auditing, data quality tools, or governance frameworks
- Experience in regulated or high-disciplined manufacturing environments
