This leader influences and collaborates with site resources and other sites to ensure leveraging of ideas, tools and methods. Reporting to the Site Continuous Improvement Leader, this role is critical to drive Operational Excellence at the Site.

Position Summary/Overview
The Continuous Improvement Engineering Leader is a Transformation Leader role focused on improving operational performance and capability within our site by implementing and strengthening Lean, Six Sigma and Agile practices to enable continuous improvement and future automation / digital enhancements. This leader influences and collaborates with site resources and other sites to ensure leveraging of ideas, tools and methods. Reporting to the Site Continuous Improvement Leader, this role is critical to drive Operational Excellence at the Site.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Site CI Leader and site leadership to establish a common view of the current state of operational maturity, and highlights key opportunities for improvement (margin, EBITDA, and operational maturity)
- Supports the Site Operational Excellence Roadmap aligned with the line of business strategic objectives. Develops critical roadmaps, where required.
- Supports Site Program Management Office (PMO) including the pipeline for opportunities, site / unit / functional decision boards, performance monitoring of initiatives, and benefit validation in OTT. Expected annual site OTT benefits exceed $18 million in capacity release and cost productivity savings.
- Leads/coaches significant and impactful improvement projects from opportunity definition (data analysis, voice of the customer, problem definition) to realization and financial validation through the application of Qnity’s Operational Excellence approach (combining Lean, Six Sigma, and Agile).
- Evaluates and recommends methods to increase the speed of greenbelt / blackbelt certification projects to achieve proposed savings at a faster pace.
- Achieves annual savings of $1.8 million by leading & coaching others on impactful projects.
- Collaborates with Site CI Team to develop and roll out Operational Excellence tools & standard processes that speed up our journey towards world class.
- Facilitates kaizens, workshops and different types of learning methods beyond "classroom" to mentor site leadership, engineers and team members in Operational Excellence techniques and approaches (examples: 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, SMED, Mistake Proofing, online training through OpEx Academy)
- Partners to identify improvement projects across multiple functions/plants and drafts charters in Innovation 365 for improvement projects with clearly defined benefits, scope, resource requirements, and project plans with milestones and timelines
- Supports the effective usage of Innovation 365 as an integrated project management tool, training engineers and other leaders on the expectations of how to best utilize I365.
- Engages in network meetings for learning/success sharing among peer groups
- Shares and trains on new approaches, tools, concepts, and processes to the site in concert with the larger CI network
- Leads or co-facilitates Lean, Automation and/or Digital Kaizen Events.
- Leads Lean, Automation and/or Digital projects, as assigned.
- Demonstrates daily continuous improvement.
- Serves as an outstanding leader who helps other who are “Learning to See”, improving flow and eliminating the 8 wastes while engaging our employees to own improvements in their work areas.
- Bachelor’s degree required with a preference in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Information Technologies
- 3 years minimum relevant experience
