Pay Rate: $100,000 - $130,000 annually

Position Description

We are seeking a driven and dynamic Operations Manager to join our team in Lakewood, CO. This entry-level management role is an excellent opportunity for a professional who wants to make a measurable impact on organizational growth, employee development, and client satisfaction in the energy and communications utility industry.

In this role, you will oversee daily operations, support market growth, and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services. You will lead a small team (typically under 20 employees), manage 1-2 profit centers, and play a key role in financial performance, client relationships, and staff development. This position is ideal for a high-energy leader with strong business management skills who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations for assigned profit centers, ensuring productivity, quality, and client satisfaction.
  
• Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to design and engineering staff, fostering professional growth.
  
• Oversee financial performance including profit/loss accountability, invoicing, WIP calculations, and contract bill rates.
  
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring responsiveness to client needs and identifying growth opportunities.
  
• Support recruitment, retention, and performance management of employees within your area of responsibility.
  
• Partner with senior leadership to market services, expand market share, and improve business processes.
  
• Conduct accident and claim investigations, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with company policies.
  
• Monitor and maintain company equipment and resources to ensure proper use and efficiency.
  

Required Skills & Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field (preferred: non-engineering backgrounds such as BA degrees). Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  
• 8-10 years of experience in the energy or communications utility industry.
  
• 2 years in a supervisory or management role preferred.
  
• Strong business management skills with proven success driving operational performance.
  
• Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
  
• High emotional intelligence with the ability to motivate diverse teams and manage strong personalities.
  
• Demonstrated success in developing client relationships and delivering results in a high-demand environment.
  
• Proficiency with business technology applications.
