Public Area Cleaner
POSITION SUMMARY:
To ensure all hotel public areas are maintained in a clean, safe, hygienic, and presentable condition that meets hotel standards and enhances guest satisfaction.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
- Reports to: Housekeeping Manager
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain cleanliness of assigned public areas.
- Lobby and reception areas
- Corridors and hallways
- Elevators and elevator lobbies
- Public restrooms
- Meeting rooms and function spaces
- Staircases
- Fitness center and spa common areas
- Public entrances and exits
- Outdoor guest-accessible areas
- Administrative office common areas
- Reporting maintenance issues and safety hazards.
- Ensuring cleaning equipment is used safely.
- Following hotel hygiene and safety standards.
- Responding promptly to guest requests within their scope.
- Practice waste management procedures, including waste collection, recycling separation, proper disposal, liner replacement, and hand hygiene practices.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures, including promptly addressing wet floor hazards, handling and storing chemicals according to safety guidelines, and operating equipment safely to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Maintain professional interactions with guests.
- Report property damages, concerns or hazards.
- Adhere to Lost and Found procedures, including securing found items, notifying supervisors, documenting details, and submitting items per hotel policy.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Previous hotel housekeeping experience a plus, but not required.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
- Worker is subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, including extremes in heat and cold.
- Subject to noise, and vibration.
- Subject to hazards (moving mechanical parts, electrical current, scaffolding, exposure to chemicals).
- Subject to atmospheric conditions affecting respiratory system or skin (fumes, dusts, mists, gasses, poor ventilation).
- Subject to oils and other cutting fluids
- In certain situations, could be required to wear a respirator.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions.
