GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum of five (5) years of transportation, fleet management, or logistics leadership experience, required.
2. Strong working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and Clearinghouse regulations, required.
3. Experience implementing or managing route optimization systems and Electronic Logging Device (ELD) platforms, required.
4. Ability to recruit, onboard, and vet part-time and full-time drivers in compliance with DOT regulations, required.
5. Ability to conduct annual driver vetting including Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) reviews and FMCSA Clearinghouse queries, required.
6. Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL Class “B” with Hazmat endorsement, required or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment.
7. Experience with international shipping and export documentation, including Commercial Invoices, Packing List, and Shipper’s Export Declarations, AES filings, and international freight coordination, preferred.
8. Ability to obtain and maintain Hazardous Materials Technical Shipping Certification (including ground and/or air transport) within six (6) months of employment, required.
9. Participation in all DOT-required certifications and recertifications applicable to the manager role, required.
10. Ability to prepare, review, and maintain transportation documentation, including Bills of Lading, Packing Lists, Commercial Invoices, export documentation, and related compliance paperwork, required..
11. Must be able to obtain and maintain clearance from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE).
12. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

22. Availability to adapt to blackout periods for peak operational seasons, including the July 4th season from May 1 through July 15, and assigned New Year’s Eve (NYE) blackout schedules.
23. Ability to complete the Grucci Pyrotechnician Seminar and be available to support firework displays as required.
JOB DUTIES:
1. Plan, direct, and oversee daily transportation operations, ensuring timely, safe, and compliant movement of all company vehicles, materials, and shipments.
2. Coordinate NE transportation needs with the NE Warehouse Operations Manager to assign appropriate duties.
3. Implement and maintain efficient route planning systems to improve delivery timelines, reduce fuel consumption, and maximize fleet utilization.
4. Oversee and manage Electronic Logging Device (ELD) systems to ensure full compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and reporting accuracy.
5. Maintain full accountability for fleet compliance, including vehicle registrations, inspections, permits, insurance, maintenance schedules, and safety documentation.
6. Develop, monitor, and report key fleet performance metrics, including fuel usage, vehicle utilization, driver performance, and cost efficiency.
7. Recruit, onboard, train, and supervise part-time and full-time drivers in alignment with company and DOT standards.
8. Maintain Driver Qualification Files (DQFs) and ensure all annual driver requirements, including MVR checks and Clearinghouse queries, are completed on schedule.
9. Participate in and maintain all required DOT certifications and recertifications applicable to the Transportation & Fleet Manager role.
10. Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including hazardous materials standards when applicable.
11. Ensure proper classification, documentation, packaging, and handling of hazardous materials shipments in compliance with applicable DOT, IATA, and international transport regulations.
12. Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy of transportation documentation including Bills of Lading, Packing Lists, and Commercial Invoices (PLCI).
13. Prepare and review international shipping documentation, including Commercial Invoices, AES filings, export documentation, and customs-related paperwork, to ensure compliance with international shipping regulations.
14. Support ME transportation requirements, ensuring proper documentation, coordination, and regulatory adherence.
15. Coordinate shipments supporting government or Department of Defense (DoD) contracts when applicable, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory, documentation, and security requirements.
16. Maintain operational readiness of all fleet vehicles by coordinating preventative maintenance, repairs, and vendor services.
17. Manage transportation budgets and control fleet-related expenses while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
18. Develop and maintain transportation Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance.
19. Collaborate with warehouse personnel and assist in coordinating loading operations to ensure vehicles are loaded safely, efficiently, and in accordance with transportation schedules and safety requirements. Communicate safety concerns, compliance risks, vehicle issues, and operational challenges promptly to executive management.
20. Act as a visible leader, reinforcing safety standards, regulatory compliance, accountability, and continuous operational improvement.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must be able to sit or stand for 8-12 hours.
2. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
3. Must be able to traverse and access warehouses, display sites, and office areas as required.
