Grocery Store Management – Job Description
Position Summary:
Grocery Store Management is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the store to ensure efficiency, profitability, and a positive shopping experience for customers. This role involves managing staff, maintaining inventory, ensuring compliance with company policies, and achieving sales and operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure store standards for cleanliness, organization, and safety are met.
- Implement and monitor company policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Staff Management
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise employees.
- Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching or disciplinary action as needed.
- Customer Service
- Ensure exceptional customer service and handle escalated customer issues professionally.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and implement improvements where necessary.
- Inventory & Merchandising
- Oversee ordering, receiving, stocking, and inventory control processes.
- Ensure proper product rotation, pricing accuracy, and promotional displays.
- Work with department heads to maintain in-stock conditions and product quality.
- Financial Management
- Manage budgets and financial reports.
- Analyze sales trends and develop strategies to increase profitability.
- Control costs related to labor, shrink, and supplies.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain accurate records for inspections, audits, and company requirements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail or grocery management required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and make sound business decisions.
- Knowledge of POS systems, scheduling software, and inventory management tools.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.70 - $27.34 per hour
