Pay Range: $10 - $10.10/hour.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pay Rate: Please reach out for discussion/negotiation (Weekly Gross: $1,051.92 based on 40 hours)
- Schedule: 8-hour night shifts (Monday–Friday, 11:00pm – 7:30am) – 40 hours guaranteed per week
- Duration: 13 weeks (06/08/2026 – 09/05/2026)
- Per-Diem (Meals, Incidentals & Lodging): $647.92/week
- OT Rate: $16.00/hour
- Decontaminate, clean, and disinfect surgical instruments following established protocols.
- Inspect instruments for damage, cleanliness, and functionality; report issues to supervisor.
- Assemble instrument trays and sets according to count sheets and surgeon preferences.
- Operate sterilizers (autoclaves) and other processing equipment; monitor biological and chemical indicators.
- Document sterilization loads, cycle parameters, and maintenance logs accurately.
- Distribute sterile instruments and supplies to operating rooms and other departments.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and OSHA standards at all times.
- Maintain inventory levels and restock sterile supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with OR staff to prioritize urgent instrument requests.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Must have skills: - Instrument Technician, Sterile Processing, SPD, Surgical Instrument Reprocessing, HSPA Certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience within sterile processing or instrument technician specialty
- HSPA Certification (formerly IAHCSMM) or equivalent (preferred)
- Knowledge of surgical instrument identification, assembly, and sterilization methods
- Ability to work 8‑hour night shifts (Monday–Friday, 11:00pm – 7:30am), 40 hours guaranteed per week
- No local candidates within 50 miles (travel only)
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and manual dexterity
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds
- Proficiency with steam sterilization, high-level disinfection, and biological monitoring
- Strong knowledge of infection control and sterile storage standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork with OR and SPD staff
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a high‑volume environment
- Commitment to quality and patient safety
