Overview:
PWR Staffing is seeking a high-performing Health & Benefits Sales Leader to drive strategic growth within the mid-market segment (1,000–5,000 employees). This role focuses on consultative, broker-style sales, managing a substantial book of business, and delivering innovative employee benefits solutions across medical, dental, life, disability, and supplemental health offerings. Ideal candidates bring a proven track record of exceeding sales targets, managing multimillion-dollar portfolios, and building strong broker and client relationships.
Location: U.S. (Hybrid – 3 days in office)
Compensation: $151,000 – $170,000
Experience Level: Mid-Senior (5 years)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a large, high-value book of business, driving revenue and market expansion
- Execute full-cycle sales strategies from prospecting to closing, including pricing negotiations
- Generate new business through cold outreach, networking, and industry engagement
- Develop compelling proposals, RFP responses, and executive-level presentations
- Build and maintain relationships with brokers, consultants, and C-suite decision-makers
- Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities and expand client portfolios
- Partner across teams to deliver tailored, high-impact benefit solutions
- Represent Mercer at conferences and industry events to strengthen brand presence
Performance Expectations (Based on Target Profile):
- Consistently achieve or exceed 100% of annual sales goals
- Manage and grow multimillion-dollar portfolios (e.g., $10M–$160M premium blocks)
- Drive year-over-year revenue growth (10–12% ) and increase market share
- Generate significant new business (e.g., $5M–$15M in annual premium growth)
- Maintain and expand a network of 50 broker and client relationships
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- 5 years of experience in health & benefits, employee benefits consulting, or group insurance sales required
- Proven success selling to mid-market clients (1,000–5,000 employees) required
- Strong consultative, broker-style sales approach
- Demonstrated ability to access and influence C-suite executives
Preferred Qualifications:
- Life & Health Insurance License
- Experience managing high-performing portfolios and strategic partnerships
- Background in launching new products, market expansion, or leading growth initiatives
Work Model:
Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 remote); must reside near a Mercer office
