Overview:
The Material Handler is responsible for safely, efficiently, and accurately moving material throughout the
warehouse.
Responsibilities (May include but are not limited to):
- Uphold the fundamentals of the Nicholson Nine and Responsible Care Guiding Principles.
- Work safely by always following all the established rules of conduct, and communicating appropriate
- Stage and load products based on customer orders and pick sheets.
- Unload product deliveries and place in stock.
- Verify that each incoming or outgoing load matches the paperwork.
- Assist with organizing and maintaining existing inventory.
- Notify inventory control and purchasing when product is missing in a delivery.
- Maintain material handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections, making minor repairs, or
- Prepare / check shipping documents.
- Label / stencil containers as needed.
- Initiate Service Reports.
- Participate in Spill Response as member of Hazard Response team.
- Contribute to the overall success of the team.
Complexity of Duties:
- Chemical manufacturing and distribution focus requires basic technical knowledge and understanding
Required Education / Competencies / Equivalent Experience (Prior to hire / transfer):
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate with others and motivation to succeed.
- Ability to manage your time and prioritize your daily tasks.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge.
- Proficient forklift operator skills.
- Knowledge of, and compliance with, safe forklift operating rules and procedures.
- Ability to repeatedly lift 30-60 pounds.
- Flexible work schedule that includes occasional weekends, holidays, evenings, and overnights.
Location / Reporting Relationship:
The position is based at the PVS Cleveland Warehouse in Painesville, OH and reports to the Lead Material
Handler.
