Puyana Plastic Surgery is a high-end, innovative, and rapidly growing aesthetic plastic surgery practice seeking a bilingual (Spanish/English) Medical Assistant to join our team and work closely with the surgeon. Spanish fluency is required.
Responsibilities
Assist the surgeon during pre-operative consultations, post-operative follow-ups, and in-office procedures
Perform real-time medical scribing and maintain accurate EMR documentation
Prepare patients for exams and procedures; obtain vitals and update medical histories
Coordinate pre-operative labs and testing
Ensure completion of all pre-op documentation, consents, and clearances
Provide post-operative instructions and recovery documentation
Reinforce wound care, medications, activity restrictions, and follow-up schedules
Participate as an active member of a collaborative, patient-focused team
Follow up with patients to answer questions, provide guidance, and support continuity of care
Perform pre consultation assessments for virtual consults
Cross-train in additional clinic responsibilities as needed to support daily operations
Assist with social media support and content creation for platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, including patient education and behind-the-scenes clinical content (as appropriate and compliant)
Qualifications
Fluent in Spanish and English (required)
Medical Assistant training or relevant clinical experience
Strong understanding of medical terminology
Experience with EMR systems and medical documentation
Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
Professional, compassionate demeanor aligned with a luxury medical practice
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing aesthetic environment
Preferred
Certified Medical Assistant
Experience in plastic surgery, aesthetics, dermatology, or surgical specialties
Prior medical scribing experience
Interest or experience in social media, content creation, or patient education
