Putnam County Hospital is looking for a temporary full-time Patient Service Representative to join the Occupational Health Team at the Putnam County YMCA office. This position is temporarily full-time for approximately 6 weeks with the option to stay on in the PRN Float Pool after the temporary coverage timeline ends.
| Job Summary: | Greets patients, organizes patient files, and moves patients through a pre-determined schedule of appointments at a physician's office. |
| Job Duties/Responsibilities: | |
| • | Welcomes patients and visitors to the medical office by greeting patients and visitors in person and on the telephone and answering inquiries or referring questions to other staff members |
| • | Efficiently conducts check-in, check-out, and rescheduling procedures |
| • | Verfies insurance coverage |
| • | Collect copays and balances at time of appointment |
| • | Answers, triages, and appropriately routes incoming calls |
| • | Explains office policies, insurance coverage, and services available to patients |
| • | Schedules appointments for the physicians and physician assistant to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most effective use of examining and treatment rooms. Prepares a daily schedule of examinations for each provider |
| • | Accurately enters all patient demographic, billing, and insurance information in the Electronic Medical Record (AllScripts) |
| • | Receives, reviews, and distributes documentation to appropriate staff members in a timely manner |
| • | Reviews patient schedule for following day and verifies all necessary paperwork is on file. Follows up with patients for any missing documentation |
| • | Follows established protocols for opening and closing office |
| • | Performs other duties as assigned |
