About the Job
This is an opportunity to be responsible for a multitude of credit functions, which includes spreading and analyzing financial statements and tax returns, analyzing cash flow, management, personal cash flow, and repayment ability of potential borrowers, preparing loan write-ups for new loan requests, as well as perform updated financial analysis for 327 / Modifications, Financial No Adverse Change Memos, and Annual Loan Reviews on existing loans for credit quality and updated risk rating.
What You’ll Do
- Spread and analyze financial statements and tax returns to identify any trends in the financial operations of the potential borrower and determine creditworthiness.
- Analyze cash flow and repayment ability of potential borrowers ensuring program benchmarks are met.
- Review business and managerial plans, credit reports and other research as appropriate to determine creditworthiness of loan applicants.
- Review all application documents to verify loan program eligibility and work directly with loan officers as necessary to discuss any issues.
- Prepare summary credit memo on proposed loans for distribution to senior management for review and approval.
Loan File Processing:
- Work directly with the appropriate party/parties to request and receive all answers/items to credit related questions during the underwriting process.
- Organize and maintain accurate and complete virtual loan file throughout the process.
- Proactively work on loan files to ensure that applications move through the process in a timely fashion.
- Provide project summary and high-level review of loan file to Credit Administration and provide recommendations as necessary.
Technology:
- Utilize internal and external technology systems to review, process, and track active loan files.
- Maintain accurate loan file database for managerial reporting purposes.
- Assist management in improving technological processes by providing feedback on loan systems and potential efficiencies that can be gained in loan processing.
Coordination and Communication:
- Communicate both verbally and via email with borrowers, loan officers and internal staff as necessary to move loan file through process in a timely manner.
- Coordinate underwriting and approval of loan files with loan officers and loan processors.
- Review loan approval documents for consistency and accuracy as well as compliance with all internal and program guidelines.
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a detail-oriented analyst with strong interpersonal skills who checks most of these boxes:
Education: Associate degree in a related field, required.
- Experience: SBA loan experience and commercial underwriting experience. Preferred and prior banking experience desired.
- Able to multi-task and meet frequent deadlines.
- Consistently produce high-quality work.
- Other duties as assigned by Credit Administration.
- Final candidates must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings, including background, criminal and credit check, and drug testing.

Additional Information
We will give consideration to and provide training for veterans interested in a career in finance/ banking provided that the applicant has completed at least two years of college with an accredited institution.

Based on our compensation benchmarking survey, the estimated salary range for this position is $50,000 – 60,000 and is commensurate with education and experience.
