High Impact Financial Analysis
Albany, NY Full Time
POSTED ON 9/16/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/15/2025

High Impact Financial Analysis is an impact finance consulting firm and Certified B Corporation® that provides underwriting, portfolio management, and data analytics services to mission-driven lenders and investors. We have an exciting full-time, entry-level opportunity for a Credit Analyst in our Albany, NY office.

The ideal candidate is passionate about creating positive social impact through a career in community lending and impact investing and has a college degree in accounting, finance, or business with a concentration in finance. No prior work experience is required. The Analyst will have the opportunity to work across our Underwriting and Portfolio Management business lines, gaining exposure to business and real estate finance, enterprise and project-level financial analysis, as well as the mission-driven finance industry that uses capital for good.

This position supports High Impact’s mission and goals by spreading and analyzing nonprofit and for-profit financial statements, completing lower complexity commercial credit write-ups and loan reviews, supporting underwriters and portfolio managers on more complex commercial credits, and performing research to support the team. A typical day will include tasks like inputting data into Microsoft Excel, analyzing financial statements to assess the financial health of a company, completing reporting for clients, and writing evaluations of the strength of a company’s management team.

High Impact’s clients include Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs), green banks, philanthropic foundations, and government entities across the U.S. The Analyst will gain unparalleled exposure to the breadth of social impact lending, including innovative and cutting-edge affordable housing, community facility, green energy, and small business projects. In addition, the Analyst will learn to analyze a variety of complex subsidy sources, including Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), New Markets Tax Credits (NMTC), and federal- and state-level government grants and loans.

To be considered for this position applicants will have:

High Impact is a flexible, dynamic, and participative organization that lives its mission by empowering employees to embody its core values—including being mission-driven and solutions-oriented, providing empathy & support, and ensuring everyone has a seat at the table. High Impact recognizes the importance of autonomy and flexibility and supports these values by holding no internal meetings on Fridays to allow time for deep work, offering flexibility in work schedules, and providing opportunities for profit sharing, regular training, and ongoing opportunities to grow within and across its lines of business including underwriting, portfolio management, and consulting services.

High Impact’s work environment provides broader and more invigorating opportunities than working within traditional lending institutions because of the diverse types of lending and markets its clients serve across multiple states, the consultative nature of the relationship with clients founded on trust and industry-specific expertise, typically lower monthly project volume with longer lead times, and opportunities to provide input that helps improve clients’ internal operations. In addition, High Impact’s small size (10 full-time employees) provides employees with a unique opportunity to be part of determining the future of the organization.

To be considered for this position, qualified candidates are required to submit a résumé and cover letter by October 5, 2025. The cover letter should emphasize any prior classroom or professional experience with financial statements, real estate, business finance, and community or economic development, and tell us why you are interested in the position. Resumes submitted without a cover letter will not be reviewed.
