About The Opportunity
As a Quality Engineer I, you will provide support to operational and development programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem-solving skills. This role also supports the development and implementation of quality processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. As Quality Engineer I you will also assist with inspections, testing, non-conformance management, and documentation.
Location: South Windsor, CT 100% onsite.

About The Opportunity
As a Quality Engineer I, you will provide support to operational and development programs to enable and deliver zero defect projects utilizing engineering and problem-solving skills. This role also supports the development and implementation of quality processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. As Quality Engineer I you will also assist with inspections, testing, non-conformance management, and documentation.

Responsibilities
- Support writing procedure, collecting and analyzing data.
- Support in implementing and maintaining the quality management system. (AS9100, AS13100, NADCAP)
- Compile and submit FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) packages per customer requirements
- Participate in contract review process to ensure customer requirements can be met and are effectively incorporated in QMS.
- Support the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Utilize Quality Engineering tools like PFMEA, Measurement System Analysis, and Control Plans to monitor and improve internal processes.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify the root causes of quality issues and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Assist in evaluating supplier performance and quality, supporting supplier audits, and assisting with the development of quality improvement plans.
- Work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to resolve quality issues and improve overall product quality.
- Participate in continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen, LEAN, etc.
- Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system and customer requirements.
- Create and maintain company quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, etc.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering, Material Science or Metallurgy
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future. The Company cannot offer employment to visa holders who require employer sponsorship in the future or cannot work now on a full-time basis.
- Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.
- At least 1 year of quality engineering experience
- Aerospace experience.
- Understanding of quality principles and methodologies.
- Experience and training in quality systems including AS9100 and NADCAP
- Proficiency in quality management systems, process validation, and customer specifications.
- Experience working with CAD, QMS and ERP software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to guide junior team members effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate across teams and with customers.
- Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
- Personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes) is required on the shop floor
- Occasional weekend and evening work may be required to accommodate priorities, deadlines, and schedules.
