FITNESS GENERAL MANAGER
Position Overview
The General Manager of Pump24 is responsible for leading all aspects of the club’s daily operations to ensure exceptional service, a motivating fitness environment, and strong business performance. This role drives membership growth and retention, oversees staff development, and ensures Pump24 maintains its reputation as a clean, safe, and energizing 24-hour fitness club. The GM fosters a culture that reflects Pump24’s commitment to community, wellness, and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESLeadership & Team Development
- Recruit, train, mentor, and supervise front desk sales associates
- While on-site oversee coaches and trainers
- Maintain a high-engagement culture aligned with Pump24’s values of service, motivation, and member success
- Conduct performance evaluations and ongoing staff training initiatives
Membership Sales & Retention
- Drive membership growth through effective sales strategies, lead management, and community outreach
- Monitor retention metrics and implement member engagement programs tailored to Pump24’s 24/7 model
- Ensure an exceptional experience for all members by addressing concerns swiftly and professionally
Operational Excellence
- Oversee all day-to-day operations to uphold Pump24’s standards for cleanliness, safety, and facility readiness
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and internal operational policies
- Manage personal training onboarding and contribute to class formatting
Financial Management
- Maintain performance targets and ensuring revenue and sales goals are met or exceeded
- Monitor revenue and performance KPIs, taking corrective action when needed
- Identify opportunities for new revenue streams, including programs, workshops, or partnerships aligned with Pump24’s brand
Facility & Equipment Management
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, safe, and available for member use
- Schedule preventive maintenance and coordinate with vendors for repairs or equipment upgrades
- Track inventory levels for supplies and operational materials
Marketing & Community Engagement
- Collaborate on or execute local marketing initiatives, promotions, and social media engagement to grow the Pump24 brand
- Build connections with local businesses, schools, and community organizations to enhance visibility and drive traffic
- Support in-club events, challenges, and campaigns that strengthen member engagement
QUALIFICATIONSEducation & Experience (Nice to Have but Not Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sports Management, Exercise Science, or related field preferred
- 2–3 years of leadership experience in fitness, wellness, hospitality, or a related customer-facing industry
- Proven experience in sales leadership, operations management, and staff supervision
- Personal Training Certification (CPT) preferred, or interest in pursuing certification as part of professional development
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interest in health and fitness with familiarity of gym equipment and training environments
- Understanding of fitness center operations, membership sales, and training programs (Nice to have but not required)
- Ability to track, manage, and consistently achieve performance targets and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Maintain a work week of a minimum of 40 hours
- Flexible schedule–including early mornings, evenings, or weekends as needed
- If desired, ability to train PT clients during regularly scheduled shifts with ability to train unlimited clients outside of core business hours
Work Environment
- Dynamic, fast-paced 24/7 fitness environment requiring hands-on involvement in both operational and member-facing tasks
- In-person leadership presence is essential to maintain Pump24’s high service and operational standards
Physical & Schedule Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the studio
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary bonus

- Fitness Coach opportunities at $25/class rate
- Ability to train personal training clients independently with no club rental fees; trainers set their own pricing and retain all session revenue

- Employees receive 14 days of PTO and 3 sick days upon hire. Time off renews annually on the employee’s anniversary date, with the ability to roll over up to 5 unused PTO days each year.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
