Description
Join the dedicated team in Transportation as a long-term substitute Transporation Secretary. The long-term position will run for approximately 8 weeks beginning in November of 2026. Monday through Friday, 12:30pm - 5:30pm.
Job Goal: Assist Transportation Coordinator in the coordination of the district transportation department to ensure safe and efficient operation of the student transportation system.
Essential Job Functions:
- Must be able to:

- perform other tasks as assigned
- Use Edulog transportation software to:
- Maintain student database
- Ability to conduct basic functions in Skyward Student Management software
- Initiate and maintain alternate bus stops
- Coordinate all activity trip buses and drivers and provide maps and directions for trips
- Assign substitute drivers for daily routes
- Maintain trip assignment reports
- Prepare purchase orders for the Transportation Coordinator and the Fleet Coordinator
- Process deposit payments for field trips
- Use effective communication skills and proper telephone etiquette to resolve problems with parents and district staff
- Schedule drug and/or alcohol testing for transportation department employees
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Coordinator

Qualifications
Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and school bus and air brake endorsements or must obtain license
- Reasonable degree of proficiency in the use of computers and common office software
- Demonstrated experience with keeping thorough and accurate records, and maintaining confidentiality
- Ability to work additional hours when necessary
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds for a distance of 20 feet
- Current First Aid/CPR certified or willing to obtain
- Commitment to the Pulaski Board of Education Educational Philosophy
- Demonstrated skills in positive human relations and cultural competence
- Demonstrated skills in problem solving and conflict management
- Demonstrated ability to:
- work collaboratively
- carry out emergency/crisis response procedures
- perform all computer technology tasks associated with the position
- communicate positively/effectively with students, parents, staff, patrons
- attend on a regular basis
