What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Clerk position at Pueblo of Pojoaque Corporations?
JOB PURPOSE: To process payroll and tips on a bi-weekly basis, reconcile, all taxes and withholding, file all required tax reports in a timely basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Run payroll reports and verify information.
- Distribute payroll checks.
- Verify & voucher employee deductions for payment and give to AP.
- Balance liabilities to general ledger balances. This involves mainly the employee deductions, tax payments, and insurance payments
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and double entry of accounting essential.
- Skill in using computer, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, and modular based accounting programs. Needs to have at least 3 years’ experience minimum.
- Good mathematical skills, 10-key proficient. Must be able to analyze accounts for accuracy.
- Must be articulate in communications. Independent thinking is necessary for auditing records.
- Must have high standards of integrity and confidentiality.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associates degree in accounting or related field with 1-3 years’ experience in full charge computerized payroll
- A high-school diploma or GED with 3-7 years’ experience in full charge computerized payroll will be accepted
- Gaming Commission hiring requirements
- Professional dress and attitude
- Driver's License required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Sitting-95%/Packing Storage Boxes -5%; Office setting.
- Some lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.
- All ergonomic aids are made available to reduce repetitive motion syndrome.
- Exposure to VDT's/CT's from computer screen.
- May be required to work extended hours.
- Occasional travel.
