Find your value here as a… BSA Specialist
The BSA Specialist is responsible for maintaining files on highly sensitive information including but not limited to, BSA, Patriot Ac, OFAC compliance monitoring and fraud reporting. Submits CTR and SAR reports in BSA monitoring software (Verafin) that are directly uploaded to FinCEN. Processes the Verafin CTR, SAR, FRAML, Account Fraud, Debit Fraud, Remote Banking, AML, Watch List, Active Cases, International wire, Subpoena and ACH suspicious activity reports according to guidelines. This position will also work with law enforcement on fraud cases and may be required to represent the Credit Union in court cases when applicable. This is an onsite role in Lakeland, Florida with the opportunity to be a hybrid worker after several months of training.
What you will do…
- Analyzes suspicious transactions and associated account histories to identify money laundering or other suspicious/non-compliant behavior.
- Responsible for processes and alerts in BSA monitoring software (Verafin) CTR, SAR, FRAML, Account Fraud, Debit Fraud, Remote Banking, AML, Watch List, Active Cases, International wire, Subpoena and ACH suspicious activity reports according to guidelines.
- Ensures compliance with associated regulations or legislation, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the USA PATRIOT Act. Responsible for the maintenance, updating and production of BSA/Patriot Act/OFAC/314a reporting by using the cash/wire and BSA monitoring software (Verafin) to produce reports which are then scrutinized for suspicious (red flag) and fraudulent activity.
- Collects information, submits and files all aspects of Suspicious Activity Reports through BSA monitoring software.
- Collects information, submits and files all aspects of Currency Transaction Reports through BSA monitoring software.
- Prepares information for Board of Directors monthly and annual reports.
- Prepares Policies on all BSA, Patriot Act and OFAC to be approved by the board annually.
- Assists and works with Law Enforcement regarding fraud cases.
- Assists with regulatory exams
- Provides testimony in and out of court should any litigation result from fraud cases or SARs.
- Provides documentation for Subpoenas.
- Assists in handling member/employee questions, in relation to BSA and/or Compliance.
- Assists in handling member/employee questions in relation to Elder Abuse.
- Block debit cards, close accounts, and send proper notification as needed if a member falls outside the credit union's risk profile
What you need…
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 3 years of relevant experience
- BSA Certification (NCUA, NAFCU, CUES) preferred
- Knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and other federal laws, including but not limited to: US Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets and Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act
