If so, then this opportunity may be for you! The Ohio Department of Public Safety is hiring for a Deputy Director to lead the Ohio Emergency Medical Services team in Columbus, OH.
In this position you will:
• Plans, designs & manages a comprehensive statewide Emergency Medical Services (EMS) division according to established laws, rules & standards
• Develops budget & plans for adequate personnel, facilities, equipment & supplies to ensure efficient operation of division
• Develops & implements policies & procedures to ensure certification of all Emergency Medical Technicians, Firefighters, Fire Safety Inspectors & Instructors
• Oversees the accreditation of training of Emergency Medical Technicians, Firefighters, Fire Safety Inspectors & Instructors through delegation of duties & responsibilities to staff
• Serves as Chief Executive Officer of the State Board of EMFTS
• Attends State Board of Emergency Medical, Fire, & Transportation Services (EMFTS) meetings
• Testifies in legislative hearings on proposed legislation which could affect both division & departmental programs

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to lead a state level board or commission, nonprofit association, or other similar organizations. Preferred organizations with an emphasis on Fire or EMS.

Supplemental InformationThis position is unclassified per section 124.11(A)(9) ORC.
This position is essential, meaning the duties this job performs are critical to the continued operations of the Ohio Department of Public Safety during a public safety emergency (OAC 123: 1-46-01 & DAS Directive HR-D-11). This position will be required to report for duty during any public safety emergency.
