Public Knowledge® (PK) is seeking a Senior Accountant based in Lakewood, NJ. This is a full-time, in-office position that plays a key role on the Finance and Accounting team and is responsible for performing core accounting functions with minimal supervision. This position may also be needed to support GLI Capital Group, which is the owner of PK.

What You Will Accomplish Here…
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, compliance, and continuous improvement of accounting processes, and collaborating regularly with leadership and cross-functional teams. Key responsibilities include:
Month-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End Close
- Lead and manage all close activities.
- Prepare detailed accruals, deferrals, and adjusting entries.
- Review journal entries for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Develop improved close timelines and identify efficiency opportunities.
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements and management reports.
- Conduct complex variance analysis across revenue, expenses, and cash flow.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to leadership to support strategic decision-making.
- Perform consolidations and ensure intercompany eliminations are accurate and timely.
Account Reconciliations & Controls
- Oversee reconciliations for high-volume, high-complexity balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting.
- Identify discrepancies and lead resolution efforts with cross-functional partners.
Tax & Compliance
- Oversee tax calculations, filings, and compliance for federal, state, and local jurisdictions.
- Support external audits and regulatory examinations by preparing schedules, analyses, and explanations.
Support & Collaboration
- Serve as a mentor and technical resource to other team members.
- Assist with ERP optimization, system enhancements, and automation projects.
- Provide training and guidance to accounting team members on new processes or tools.
- Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
- 5 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting or finance is required.
- Strong understanding of GAAP required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel is required.
- Must have demonstrated professionalism, including while working under pressure.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines, while maintaining a realistic balance among priorities.
- Must demonstrate a high degree of attention to quality, details, and correctness.
- Must have the ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
Preferred or a Plus:
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in the gaming industry is a plus.
- Experience with the Acumatica system is a plus.
Location: Lakewood, NJ (in-office)
Schedule: Normal hours are Monday through Friday, 40 hours or more per week.
Salary: $85,000 – $95,000, commensurate with experience
Travel: Minimal to no travel involved.
