Job Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented senior accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and producing financial reports. The senior accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the company’s financial health and compliance, with a focus on understanding and managing financial statements.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Record financial transactions in accounting software and ensure proper coding and categorization.
- Process invoices, receipts, and payments in a timely manner.
Reconciliations:
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
- Reconcile accounts and verify the accuracy of financial data, investigating discrepancies as necessary.
Financial Statements Preparation:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Analyze financial statements and provide insights to management regarding company performance, trends, and financial health.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Provide financial data for management decision-making, including cost analysis and revenue tracking.
General Administrative Support:
- Assist with general administrative duties within the finance department as needed.
- Maintain accurate and organized filing systems for financial records.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Previous experience in a similar accounting role (3 years required).
- Strong understanding of financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Proficiency in Excel is required.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and explain financial data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Good communication skills to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
