CalPERS seeks an Information Technology Specialist III in the Enterprise Solutions Development Division (ESDD), Software Engineering Support Services Section. The Information Technology Specialist III works as the senior technical specialist supporting all CalPERS complex databases hosted on premise and in the cloud.
Under administrative direction of the Information Technology Manager II, the incumbent serves as a recognized senior technical specialist responsible for creation, maintenance and troubleshooting of databases after Development, including but not limited to Test, Staging, Training, Pre-Production and Production. This position will act as a team lead on complex database projects within this scope, and will serve as the database technical specialist to the enterprise among other duties.
Telework Information: This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.

Expertise in Oracle Database, Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL) Server, PostgreSQL, NoSQL and cloud computing plaforms/services such as Oracle Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
Experience with performance analysis, perfromance tuning and advanced troubleshooting and remediation techniques for databases.
