QA/QC Supervisor | Sparks, NV | $60 to $65/hr
About the company
A mechanical design, construction, and service firm with offices across the state. Its mechanical systems go into biopharmaceutical R&D, semiconductor, microelectronics, healthcare, manufacturing, data center, and high rise residential facilities. You'd be leading quality at its stainless fab shop in Sparks, NV.
What you'll do
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Quality Control Inspectors
- Run First-in Inspections to catch fabrication and installation errors before they become costly
- Audit execution of the Project Specific Quality Control Plan
- Work with the General Contractor's QA Manager on inspection planning, non-conformance management, and quality audits
- Review design documentation, vendor quality manuals, and purchased materials for compliance
- Use SPC methods to evaluate processes and track quality issues to the root cause
- Document QA activities, report results to management, and recommend improvements
- Join weekly project meetings and partner with Project Management on quality requirement changes
What you'll need
- 8 years of Quality Control experience (ASME B31 piping, fabrication, welding, NDT, industrial and commercial construction)
- 3 years leading and managing direct reports
- Strong knowledge of ASME Section IX, including creating and reviewing welding procedures and welder or brazer qualifications
- Associate degree or technical school, with 10 years of overall experience, or an equivalent mix of education and experience
- Strong written and verbal communication, including presenting to customers and internal teams
- AWS CWI or SCWI, or ICC Mechanical Commercial certification preferred
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, starting between 6:00 and 7:00 am and finishing between 4:00 and 5:00 pm
- Occasional overtime and some travel to regional branch offices and job sites
