What are the responsibilities and job description for the Piping Designer position at PTS Advance?
Our client, a major refinery, is looking for a Piping/Mechanical Designer (Mid-Level to Senior) in Anacortes, WA Designer to support refinery projects and as-built documentation.
Onsite – local candidates.
Long-term contract.
Key Responsibilities under direction of the Lead Piping Designer:
Perform as-built documentation using existing drawings, and field measurements
Create 3D piping models and piping isometrics
Update plot plans and general arrangement drawings
Generate Material Take-Offs (MTOs)
Conduct field verification and site walkdowns as required
Coordinate with project engineers and other disciplines as needed
Respond to FRI’s by construction department to support fabrication activities
Required Skills and Qualifications
Mid-level to senior experience (typically 5–15 years) in piping/mechanical design for oil & gas or refining industry
Proficiency in AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Microsoft Office programs
Experience designing from 3D laser scans and field measurements
Ability to work independently on small design projects
Ability to work independently on other miscellaneous assigned tasks
TWIC card required for refinery access
