Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Family Nurse Practitioner role based in Springfield, MO. The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary and behavioral health support to patients across the lifespan, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental and physical health conditions within scope of practice. Daily responsibilities include performing psychiatric and medical evaluations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and developing evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with psychiatrists and other clinicians. The role involves conducting follow-up visits, monitoring treatment response, providing patient and family education, and coordinating care with internal and external providers. The Family Nurse Practitioner will document all encounters in the EHR, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and participate in interdisciplinary case reviews to support safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
Qualifications
- Clinical expertise as a Family Nurse Practitioner, with current, unrestricted NP licensure and certification in an applicable specialty (e.g., Family, Psychiatric-Mental Health, or related field).
- Strong foundation in Nursing practice, including patient assessment, health promotion, and evidence-based care planning.
- Experience in Primary Care settings, managing common acute and chronic conditions and coordinating care across disciplines.
- Solid knowledge of Medicine, including diagnostics, pharmacology, and treatment modalities relevant to mental health and primary care.
- Background in Urgent Care or similar fast-paced environments, with the ability to triage and manage urgent but non-emergent conditions.
- Experience or strong interest in mental and behavioral health; comfort working with patients experiencing depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric conditions.
- Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and current state licensure in Texas (or eligibility to obtain).
- Current BLS certification; ACLS and/or PALS preferred.
- Proficiency with EHR systems; ability to document accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and cultural humility when working with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work on-site in Springfield, MO, maintain confidentiality, and uphold all regulatory and ethical standards.
