Join our dynamic team in the heart of Manhattan, where creativity meets commerce. We are seeking a talented designer to assist in the creation of commercially viable product designs across specific categories and collections. This role involves coordinating and delivering brand-right designs that align with our overall concept and business strategy, focusing on style, color/print, fit, and fabric for both new and existing product lines.

Responsibilities

• Create brand-right, commercial designs that reflect the conceptual direction and business strategy.
• Develop seasonal products with a focus on style, fit, and fabric.
• Deliver design sketches/prototypes and provide specifications.
• Adapt designs based on feedback for finalization.
• Execute design sketches/prototypes and provide specifications with detailed tech packs and fit updates as the collection evolves.
• Understand and anticipate customer needs to exceed expectations and react readily to their needs.
• Utilize resources for sourcing new ideas and stay updated on competitor research/trend analysis.
• Collaborate with vendors and key partners throughout the design process, including Merchandising, Marketing, and Product Development.
• Brainstorm and present ideas to the team.
• Prepare materials for meetings and presentations and coordinate logistics.
• Achieve set goals with acute attention to detail, tracking progress, and anticipating potential issues.
• Pursue opportunities for personal growth and skill development.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with key partners.
• Seek to improve processes to deliver efficiently with speed and agility.
• Meet budget and time commitments without compromising design excellence.
• Support the team for regular internal company presentations.
• Contribute to custom requests when needed.
• Create and maintain accurate colored line sheets and PLM system as the source of truth for all cross-functional teams.
• Attend and lead weekly fittings to ensure execution of design intent, with manager support.
• Conduct regular market research across various platforms to stay on top of trends.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design.
• 4 years of design experience in a comparable retail environment.
• Prior experience in sleep constructions and understanding of the female body silhouette.
• Sound knowledge of fashion history, including key designers and styles.
• Commercial fashion eye and detail in product styling and performance.
• Customer service philosophy.
• Collaborative partner with a team-oriented approach.
• Highly motivated, passionate, and results-oriented.
• Solid communication and presentation skills.
• Champion for change, able to react with speed and agility.
• Flexible and creative problem solver.
• Personal professionalism and accountability.
• Moderate domestic travel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
• PLM system knowledge is a plus.
