Welder

Job Description

The Welder is responsible for producing high-quality welds on structural and fabricated components in accordance with AWS D1.1 and other applicable codes. This role requires strong technical welding skills, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate shop equipment while maintaining required certifications. Swing and Day shifts available

Pay $21 - $30/hour Depending on Experience Position Responsibilities

• Efficiently and accurately weld parts that have been previously tack-welded to major piecemarks in accordance with AWS D1.1 and other applicable welding codes
• Perform preheating, scarfing, and grinding operations as required
• Complete welds assigned based on individual skill level and certifications
• Maintain current and valid welder certifications
• Perform routine maintenance on welding machines and related equipment
• Identify and report welding machine or equipment issues to supervision
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times
  
  

Position Qualifications & Abilities Required

• Ability to safely operate welding machines, overhead cranes, rosebuds, and grinders
• Current welder certifications (AWS, WABO, or equivalent as required)
• Firm understanding of weld symbols and Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS)
• Ability to qualify or maintain Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) as required
• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and fabrication documents
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
