Licensed Practical Nurse

Role: Provides nursing care and clinical duties in a medical office setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, physician, or authorized provider within the scope of practice for a Licensed Practical Nurse licensed in New York.

Key Responsibilities

• Interview patients, document health history, medications, and symptoms.
• Measure and record vital signs such as height, weight, blood pressure, and TPR.
• Perform nursing visits including blood pressure monitoring and minor diagnostic procedures (e.g., EKG, PFT, Peak Flow) and report results.
• Schedule, confirm, and notify patients of appointments.
• Administer medications, injections, treatments, and infusions as ordered.
• Assist with examinations and procedures, prepare patients and rooms.
• Practice infection control, maintain cleanliness of exam rooms and equipment.
• Organize and communicate test results, patient information, and maintain documentation.
• Provide patient education on treatment, health promotion, and disease prevention.
• Maintain supplies, monitor equipment, and conduct inspections of supplies.
• Participate in training, staff meetings, and adhere to confidentiality and security policies.
  
  

Qualifications

• NY State LPN license and current registration.
• One to two years' ambulatory care experience preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Strong communication skills, accurate data entry, and ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
  
  

Physical Requirements: Heavy work level involving sitting, standing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, manual dexterity, and adequate hearing and vision to perform duties.
