Providence Christian Academy is seeking a passionate, Christ-centered Kindergarten Teacher who feels called to invest in the lives of young children academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally. As part of our team, you will help students grow not only in reading, writing, and mathematics but also in their relationship with Christ while modeling His love, grace, and truth each day.
Essential Responsibilities
- Create a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered classroom where every student feels valued and encouraged.
- Plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with Providence Christian Academy's curriculum while meeting the individual needs of each learner.
- Integrate biblical principles and Christian character into daily instruction and classroom activities.
- Foster students' academic, spiritual, social, and emotional development through meaningful relationships and intentional teaching.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods, hands-on activities, and differentiated instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Maintain positive classroom management through consistency, encouragement, clear expectations, and biblical principles.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular assessments to guide instruction and celebrate growth.
- Communicate regularly with parents through conferences, progress reports, phone calls, email, and other school communication platforms.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and administration to provide a unified educational experience for students and families.
- Support school-wide events, chapel services, field trips, and community activities that strengthen the school family.
- Maintain an organized, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Pray with and for students while encouraging biblical values, kindness, respect, responsibility, and servant leadership.
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and ongoing curriculum planning.
Qualifications
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a lifestyle that reflects biblical values.
- Agreement with the mission and statement of faith of Providence Christian Academy.
- A passion for Christian education and a calling to disciple young children.
- Experience working with Kindergarten or elementary-aged students preferred.
- Strong understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate instructional practices.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual learners.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Ability to pass all required background checks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred.
OR
- Previous experience in a Christian school, private school, homeschool program, or early childhood setting is desirable.
- Familiarity with curriculum such as Abeka, Sonlight, Horizons, IEW, or other Christian educational resources is a plus.
