Animal Technician

Animal Technician, Carlsbad, CA

4-month contract-to-hire

Schedule: Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday; available start times include 4 a.m., 5 a.m., and 6 a.m.

What you’ll do:

• Perform cage changing and provide clean bedding and materials for animals housed in the vivarium.
• Autoclave biowaste for proper disposal.
• Assist in maintaining vivarium supply inventories, including stocking and ordering.
• Participate in routine weekend and holiday work as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
  
  
  

Who you are:

• Prior experienced in handling large animals (40 lbs), such as pigs, horses, or sheep.
• Familiar with animal welfare regulations and committed to the ethical use of animals in research.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  
  
  

What does this position pay?

Compensation is determined by various factors, including skill set, experience level, and geographic location. The expected range for this role is $18–$24 per hour. Please note this range is an estimate; actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.
