Job Roles And Responsibilities
- Perform drill press operations including drilling, tapping, and chamfering.
- Deburr and straighten metal plates up to 24" x 24".
- Operate manual machining equipment such as Bridgeport mills, surface grinders, and tool grinders.
- Operate CNC lathes and milling machines.
- Utilize hand tools and machine shop equipment safely and effectively.
- Operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) for inspection and verification.
- Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
- Perform and document in-process quality inspections.
- Assemble molds and tooling components.
- Conduct mold maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
- Read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Maintain extremely tight tolerances and quality standards.
- Lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds as required.
- Stand and work for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the tool room.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Associate degree from a Technical College or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience working in a machine shop or tooling environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and CAD files.
- Experience operating manual machining equipment.
- Knowledge of precision measurement and inspection techniques.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new skills.
- Experience with CNC machining operations.
- Familiarity with Mastercam software.
- Mold assembly, maintenance, and repair experience.
