Job Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead the design of electrical systems including power, lighting, low-voltage signal, and related building systems.
- Develop and review electrical designs using Revit, AutoCAD, and CAD software.
- Perform and oversee electrical calculations including service and distribution, conductor sizing, short-circuit coordination, photometric analysis, and energy code compliance.
- Coordinate with architectural and engineering teams to produce accurate and buildable construction documents.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure timely project completion.
- Collaborate with clients to provide technical guidance on project scope, budgets, schedules, and engineering solutions.
- Participate in field investigations, construction administration, and resolve technical issues during project execution.
- Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress, perform quality assurance inspections, and troubleshoot field issues.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and project presentations.
- Mentor junior engineering staff and support technical development within the team.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety standards, and project requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant building systems design experience after obtaining PE licensure.
- Proven experience in electrical system design, project management, and construction oversight.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other CAD software.
- Strong knowledge of lighting design, power distribution, and applicable building codes.
- Experience with low-voltage systems including data, security, CCTV, mass notification, and fire alarm coordination.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining schedules and resource allocation.
- Strong leadership, communication, client management, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with generators, UPS systems, EV charging infrastructure, photovoltaic systems, or commissioning is preferred.
- Additional certifications related to electrical safety or project management are a plus.
- Interest in sustainable and high-performance building design is preferred.
