The ideal candidate will support sleep specialists in diagnosing and treating a wide range of sleep disorders while ensuring high standards of patient care and technical accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive polysomnographic studies in accordance with established clinical protocols
- Monitor and record physiological data during sleep studies
- Analyze sleep data and assist in identifying abnormalities
- Apply EEG electrodes using the universal 10-20 system
- Perform scoring during acquisition as directed by the sleep center leadership
- Ensure proper artifact detection and correction during studies
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
- Communicate effectively with physicians, supervisors, and clinical staff regarding patient findings
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety standards
Education & Certification
- Associate degree (AAS) in Polysomnography or related field
- RPSGT (Registered Polysomnographic Technologist) credential required
- Minimum of 2 years of full-time experience recording and scoring sleep studies in an AASM-accredited sleep center
- Experience with both adult and pediatric patient populations preferred
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current state licensure in North Carolina
- Strong technical and analytical skills in sleep study interpretation
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data collection
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to handle overnight shifts in a clinical environment
