The Radiation Therapist will administer prescribed radiation treatments as directed by a radiation oncologist, ensuring accuracy, safety, and patient comfort throughout the treatment process.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Administering radiation therapy treatments according to prescribed plans and established protocols
- Accurately positioning patients and operating radiation therapy equipment
- Monitoring patients during treatment and responding to any adverse reactions
- Maintaining detailed records of treatments, dosages, and patient responses
- Ensuring proper functioning and safety of radiation equipment
- Collaborating with physicians, physicists, and care teams in treatment planning and delivery
- Educating and supporting patients and their families throughout the treatment process
- Following all safety, regulatory, and radiation protection guidelines
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Technology program
- ARRT Certification in Radiation Therapy required
- 1-2 years of experience in a recognized healthcare institution preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and radiation oncology practices
- Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills
