The ideal candidate will be comfortable treating patients across the lifespan, from pediatric to geriatric populations, and managing a wide variety of acute and chronic medical conditions in an outpatient primary care setting.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including:
- Medical history reviews
- Physical examinations
- Assessment of presenting concerns
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and infections.
- Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic test results, including laboratory and imaging studies.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions appropriate to patient needs.
- Provide preventive care services and health maintenance counseling.
- Educate patients regarding:
- Disease prevention
- Medication adherence
- Healthy lifestyle modifications
- Chronic disease management
- Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
- Perform minor procedures within scope of practice and under physician collaboration as required.
- Monitor vital signs and evaluate patient responses to treatment plans.
- Provide support during urgent or emergent clinical situations.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR).
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Eligible for or possess an active Tennessee Physician Assistant license.
- DEA license or eligibility to obtain.
- Strong clinical knowledge of primary care principles and evidence-based practice.
- Ability to diagnose and manage a broad spectrum of disease processes across all age groups.
- Excellent clinical judgment, diagnostic reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and patient education abilities.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced outpatient environment.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and healthcare documentation systems.
- Team-oriented approach with the ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.
